Side Entry Tubes

Side Entry Tubes with 10mm or half inch female thread and 10mm male thread to the base. A hollow tube with a side hole for our earthed braided lamp flex to come out. Our 5mm 3 core braided lamp flexes will fit through the hole (not the plain), you need a 3 core flex as this has an earth wire. The Plastic grommet prevents the lamp flex from fraying and the black grub screw grips the flex inside the tube to stop it from pulling . Made from Solid brass and available in 3 finishes.

How do I fit the bungs into a Bottle or Ceramic base?

You can access a ‘screwdriver slot’ to turn to expand the bung to create a tight fit by removing the reducer that holds down the metal plate. Feed your 3 core braided flex down the bung and through the hole in your lamp then wire up the lampholder and attach it to the ½” threaded reducer on top of the bung. Size 19-22mm fits a standard wine bottle.

Our biggest bung is currently 50mm. You can use some cork or wood to fill the hole if the aperture is bigger than that and insert our fittings into that.

Are you qualified? Installing our lighting is not particularly complex, but carried out incorrectly could prove dangerous. Electrical work is a skilled profession requiring expert knowledge with ever changing rules and accreditations. Electrical contractors are required to regularly update their qualifications. We strongly advise therefore that you instruct a fully qualified NICEIC registered electrician to check and electrically test your work. As a supplier we are not qualified or insured to advise you on how to wire up your lighting schemes so any advice given is of a purely general nature. When selling your home you may also need to provide certification for any electrical work undertaken so certification would be useful then too.
Can I use your products in my Bathroom? IP rated lighting must be used in bathroom areas where water is likely i.e. zones 1 and 2. Un-zoned areas can use standard lighting without an IP rating, See our handy diagram for more help. Bathroom Zones Explained
