Wooden Table Lamp kits – Raised

Wooden Table Lamp Kits Raised to take a larger Shade. These can be used to wire pretty much anything made from wood. The tube is hollow so the wiring goes up inside the tube to the lampholder.

Supplied with 2 matching screws these base plates can be screwed down onto a wooden object for a solid fixing or larger shade.

Please refer to a qualified electrician if you are not qualified to rewire a table lamp.

SBC – small bayonet cap fitting takes a SBC bulb. Also known as B15d . Cap measures 15mm across.
BC – bayonet cap fitting takes a BC bulb. Also known as B22d. Cap measures 22mm across.
SES – small edison screw fitting takes a SES bulb. Also known as E14. Cap measures 14mm across.
ES – edison screw fitting takes an ES bulb. Also known as E27. Cap measures 27mm across.
GES – giant edison screw fitting takes a GES bulb. Also known as E40. Cap measures 40mm across.

Do I need 2 or 3 core lamp flex?

When using any metal light fittings you need to earth the fitting to reduce the risk of electric shock. You therefore need to use our 3 core light flex in either our round or twisted braid as both have live, neutral and earth wires. Our 2 core braided flex only has live and neutral wires and therefore is only suitable for use with non-metal light fittings. If in any doubt please always refer to a qualified electrician.

Do you provide any Electrical or Restoration Services?

We do not undertake the restoration or wiring up of our products. We sell components individually not fitted together. Once we put them together we would have to send them off to be PAT tested. You can buy the components and get an electrician to put them together and PAT test them for you?

How do I fit the bungs into a Bottle or Ceramic base?

You can access a ‘screwdriver slot’ to turn to expand the bung to create a tight fit by removing the reducer that holds down the metal plate. Feed your 3 core braided flex down the bung and through the hole in your lamp then wire up the lampholder and attach it to the ½” threaded reducer on top of the bung. Size 19-22mm fits a standard wine bottle.

How to wire up lampholders?

The earth is marked in the middle of the insert. The live is the one that from underneath you can see goes across to the centre of the insert.

We also have a list of useful “How to” videos on our YouTube channel that includes a video “Metal Bayonet Lampholder Wiring & Testing” where you can see our bayonet cap lamp holder being wired up and tested by an Electrician.

I’m having trouble putting the side entry lamp holder kit together?

Our side entry lamp holder kits are usually put together for you. If not, you just need to switch the reducer round.

Undo the reducer screwed on the top of the bung.
Screw the side entry tube onto the bung where the reducer came off.
Put the reducer on top of the side entry tube ready for your lampholder.

The side entry tube is now the right way up so the flex can be gripped by the black grip screw above the entry hole in the tube.

What’s the biggest size bung you do?

Our biggest bung is currently 50mm. You can use some cork or wood to fill the hole if the aperture is bigger than that and insert our fittings into that.
